Q: How often does my horse need a massage?

There is no set rule for how often a horse should be massaged, it depends entirely upon the needs of the horse, your own preference, budget and training programme.  As a rough guide the average horse would benefit from a massage every 4-6 weeks and a competition horse every 1-2 weeks. There is no pressure from me to commit to a regular programme, the best way is to see how your horse responds and what suits your budget.

Remember that massage is a preventative measure against injury so is fantastic for maintenance purposes and to ensure any slight signs of muscular tension is dealt with before they becomes an issue.
